The South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, TX is growing at an extraordinary pace. With roughly 72,000 registered attendees participating in the 2016 show, those aspiring to attend in 2017 will be welcomed with a thriving community in all three major tracks (Interactive/Music/Film), in addition to one new track that is rapidly outgrowing them all – SXSW Gaming.

Normally known for being a piece of the overall SXSW Interactive show, SXSW Gaming will become its own standalone track in 2017. Taking place on March 16th-18th, gamers will have the opportunity to experience a show that bolsters a revamped gaming expo, awards show, and much more.

Today, wristbands to attend the SXSW Gaming Festival went on sale. In previous years, the SXSW Gaming Expo was free to the public. It appears though, that this trend will be discontinued. Single-day passes are going for $20 each, while three-day passes are going for a rate of $39.
