“EA Creating Games for the iPad”
On Jan. 27, 2010 Apple revealed their new product, the iPad. All menopausal jokes aside, the device uses a 9.7 in. back-lit LED display, an upgraded accelerometer, and a 1GHz Apple produced processor. So what does all this have to do with gaming? EA is developing a new Need for Speed for the shiny paperweight. It’s up to debate whether it will be a welcomed edition to the Need for Speed franchise but, then again, they haven’t been producing major sellers since Need for Speed:Â Most Wanted back in 2005.
“PS3 1337 H4X”
On Jan. 22, 2010, George Hotz, noted iPhone hacker, stated in his personal blog that:
“I have read/write access to the entire system memory, and HV level access to the processor. In other words, I have hacked the PS3… As far as the exploit goes, I’m not revealing it yet. The theory isn’t really patchable, but they can make implementations much harder.”
Simply put, this means that in the not-so-distant future we’re going to see a lot of neat OS and software implementations on this media powerhouse. Sony is further investigating the claim, so we’ll have to wait and see whether his “unpatchable” hack is 1337 enough to stick it to the man. We’ll do a follow up to this story as soon as Hotz posts something new in his personal blog.
