As a result of a very recent leak, the new Pokémon Sun and Moon trailer has been released early, and shows a couple new mons, a few Alolan forms, and the new evil team for this generation; Team Skull. You can view all this in the trailer below:

The first new pocket monster is Wishiwashi. Despite its small size, it has been dubbed the demon of the sea, and is terrifying to both Alolan residents and Pokémon. This is because many Wishiwashi are able to come together and join in unison as a different form. Even Gyarados are afraid of it in this form! This is a result of its distinct Schooling ability, which occurs under certain conditions in battle. Pyukumuku, a name that’s quite fun to say in all honesty, also has a unique ability called Innards Out, relating to its fist-like inner organs. The ability activates when the Pokémon has fainted, dealing damage to the opponent equal to the health it had before it had to return to its Poké Ball. The last one is Morelull, and there’s not much to say about it sadly.

New Alolan forms have been revealed, all from the first generation (like the last five). Meowth has turned into a snobbish and Dark-type cat due to its luxurious life as a pet to the royal family. Marowak is a Fire/Ghost in Alola, possibly as a result of their great care for their partners when they had to defend themselves from Grass-type Pokémon of the Alola region. The final one is Raichu. In this region, they have the Physic typing, and, in a neat touch, can surf on their tail while levitating. Even scientists are unable to find out why exactly its form has changed, but the theory, as unprofessional as it could be, is that it ate too many sweet and fluffy round pancakes. You can learn more about the new Pokémon and Alolan forms on the official Pokémon site.

The evil team has finally been revealed and is Team Skull. Sporting an individual style with an accompanying funky theme, these ruffians cause chaos for the sake of causing chaos, like messing up the trail sites and stealing others Pokémon. Plumeria is one of the Admins, and is treated as the ‘big sister’ of the group, keeping the team in line and working together. The big boss is Guzma, a merciless battler. He says that he is one of the few who ‘never could become captains’, and has a bone to pick (if you’d pardon the pun) with Professor Kukui. The team has its own page on the official site so feel free to check it out for yourselves.

With every new piece of info we get on Pokémon Sun and Moon, the more and more excited I get for its release in November. With all the changes to the formula and everything Game Freak are adding, I wouldn’t say that it’s a stretch to say that this could be the most ambitious Pokémon game yet.
