While most may prefer their servings of Gears of War on their Xbox 360, Gears of War: Anvil Gate will bring them a second dose in book format. “Anvil Gate is part of the fast-moving storyline between the second and third Gears games, so it’s essential reading for any fan who wants to fully understand the events of Gears of War 3 – the final game of the trilogy, also written by Karen,” Even if you’re not a heavy book reader, you might want to read it as Epic Games Executive Producer Rod Fergusson calls it “essential reading” as it’s “part of the fast-moving storyline between the second and third Gears games.”

Mindjack let’s you dictate your enemies every move via mind control powers enabling you to play even after your original character has died. Mindjack’s unique gameplay elements might just earn it a spot in our shooter collection.

While Microsoft emphasized “Please DO NOT forward” atop an email it sent out to former members of its “Xbox Live preview programs”, some members couldn’t resist forwarding it to Joystiq. A few screenshots that were purported to be a redesign of the Xbox Live Arcade surfaced during the last few days of E3 2010 madness. Today, Major Nelson made the official announcement on his blog that the redesign called “Destination Arcade will allow you to discover new games and content you enjoy through an easy-to-use visual browser.” Sort by by price, community rating and Destination Arcade will help you browse its collection of games.

Destination Arcade will be available in the US on July 14th from the Games Marketplace section of the dashboard. No word on a European release.
