We know that there are a lot of big Battlefield fans out there, but we don’t think there are any bigger fans than its creators who have not only made wallpapers for the PC and iPhone, but for Cisco IP telephones as well. Yeah, we laughed too, but wait till you see it on your own Cisco phone. It’s made every phone call we’ve made five times more action packed.

Really.

Not only has the Call of Duty franchise gotten so big that Activision announced the creation of a dedicated Call of Duty business unit, but that the franchise will be venturing past first person shooters in 2011. Sledgehammer Games, founded by Visceral Games’ Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, will “extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre” in 2011.

A video released today by the folks at e-mpire.com shows the apparent lag that Microsoft’s project Natal still has. Now, we did see some of this at E3 but we kep in mind that was an early demo.

The folks at e-mpire prove there theory using the trusted method of Slow-Mo and keeping count to estimate that Natal has a lag of 5 frames per second. To prove their point they used a recently released video of someone break dancing on screen using the infamous E3 dodgeball demo.

Now, if we turn our head to the finer points in the video you will notice several things:

1. You can’t actually see what is happening on screen clear enough to judge if there is lag or not

2. Input lag + Display Lag = More Lag.

3. That’s some pretty cool break dancing

4. Hammer Time!

Thanks to X10 we have a few screen-shots of the upcoming Crackdown 2. We hope it gets more respect than the first game did and doesn’t get purchased just for a Halo beta like last time. Its pre-order bonus armour is a bit dull though with its gold, brushed, red and blue metal suits of Agency-Issue armour that makes it look like something straight from Halo. We just hope fans rush to put down cash anyway.

Thanks to two new job postings on Microsoft’s job website, we now know that SpawnPoint Studios, one of Microsoft’s in-house development teams, is hard at work on an unannounced Project Natal launch title. While previous job postings revealed SpawnPoint’s involvement with Project Natal, nothing was mentioned about the game’s placement on Project Natal’s launch lineup.

A slew of Project Natal related job postings have appeared on Microsoft’s jobs site, but only two mention the SpawnPoint’s involvement and launch title status. Both of the job listings read:

“Would you like to work on a Natal launch title, built from the ground up in MGS / SpawnPoint Studios? We have a very strong team fresh off AAA titles, starting a new project in a start-up like environment. This is a rare opportunity to work on a team of game industry experts tackling a new challenge.”

Although SpawnPoint Studios was initially thought to be developing a Halo game, this may no longer be the case as Microsoft’s 343 Industries has been hiring specifically for a new Halo title. But with the influx of Halo related properties such as Halo 3: ODST, Halo Waypoint and Halo: Reach, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that yet another Halo project is in the works.

In an interview with Gamreactor, Peter Molyneux let fans know that some may be “pissed off” when they find out major details about Fable III when it makes it’s big reveal at Microsoft’s x10 event in San Francisco on February 11.

“We’re making some announcements about Fable III and there’s some… Wow, there’s some very, very big things happening in Fable. Bigger than you think. And it’s going to really upset people,” Molyneux told Gamereactor. . . . I’m really scared when I go out and tell people what it is they’re going to get super pissed off, they really are. But it’s the right thing to do man, I’m sure it’s the right thing to do.”

What we know so far about Fable III is that it takes places during the industrial revolution in Albion. Fable III is going steampunk.
