Another game announcement, another shooter. That was our attitude when MindHack first popped up on the VGTribune wire service. However, that’s not how we feel after watching this trailer.

Mindjack let’s you dictate your enemies every move via mind control powers enabling you to play even after your original character has died. Mindjack’s unique gameplay elements might just earn it a spot in our shooter collection.

One new multiplayer mode, 3 new neutral maps, “enhanced” vehicle combat, improved heavy armor and a few shiny ribbons, medals and trophies make their way to MAG in the new Interdiction DLC. The new gameplay mode titled “Interdiction” tasks players in two factions with taking control of three command posts with the aid of several heavily-armed convoys.

MAG fans can get their hands on this DLC starting June 22 for $9.99.

Dear Treyarch,

We must admit that some of us here at VGTribune only considered Inifinityward developed Call of Duty games as the real deal. Now those of us who did have hated you unjustly for long enough. Although Call of Duty 5 was enough to convince most gamers, this trailer did it for us. You are the new Infinityward. Especially considering that what’s left of Infinityward is a shell, a sham.

Love,

VGTribune

October 15th is the magic date you are waiting for, as EA has confirmed that its latest FPS Medal of Honor will be available just 25 days before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops.  This will give it only three weeks to establish itself in the all-format chart before Treyarch comes knocking.

EA hopes Medal of Honor will follow the same success that Battlefield : Bad Company 2 did earlier this year, as big titles yet to be dated include:

Halo: Reach (Bungie)
Crysis 2 (EA)
Singularity  (Bethesda)
Ghost Recon: Predator (Ubisoft)

Call Of Duty: Black Ops has been confirmed as the next title in the highly popular and profitable FPS series.  The game is expected to ship on November 9th, 2010.  The game is also said to change the play style for a more covert approach with the situation set in the world of black ops; this will see you play and shoot behind enemy lines as well as trying to retrieve important intel.  There is no word on what the multiplayer will feature nor what the price will be, but the pricing will probably be similar to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

New Brink Cinematic Trailer

Published by Alexis Santos in Microsoft Xbox 360. 0 Comments

Bethesda sent us their latest cinematic trailer for Brink, their upcoming FPS. Watch, enjoy and don’t forget to tell us what you think in the comments!

Not only has the Call of Duty franchise gotten so big that Activision announced the creation of a dedicated Call of Duty business unit, but that the franchise will be venturing past first person shooters in 2011. Sledgehammer Games, founded by Visceral Games’ Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, will “extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre” in 2011.

Can the former Dead Space developers turn the Call of Duty franchise into a compelling action-adventure game? Let us know what you think in the comments!

Usually rushed out of development with a focus on a quick way to monetize the system, free-to-play games often lack quality and most importantly, fun. And when free-to-play games finally get a lot of attention from their developers, more often than not, they end up being some sort of Farmville-like game on Facebook. And sometimes, they just flat out lack fun. That’s right, we’re looking at you Evony and many other other free-to-play games.

Free-to-play games have long been ignored, and not unjustly so, but it’s time that gamers take another look at them. And this time, take a look at the right ones. The good ones, like Alliance of Valiant Arms.

Ever wondered what the ESRB has to say about the games it rates? You know, maybe a bit more than a letter, the word “Teen” and a phrase like “comic mischief”? If so, you’ve hit the jackpot! The ESRB has just finished rating Red Steel 2 and noted that it pushes the boundaries of the “T” rating itself. Try and read the excerpt below of the ESRB’s Red Steel 2 rating and not laugh. Go ahead. We dare you.

“During the course of the game, a female character with exaggerated-size breasts wears a low-cut shirt that exposes deep cleavage; the character’s breasts jiggle slightly during cutscenes (there are no comparable physics applied to male characters). The expletives “bada*s,” “punk-a*s,” and “dammit” can be heard in the dialogue.

Overall, the game’s highly stylized cell-shaded graphics blunt the sense of realism, increasing the fantastical nature of battle sequences; in some ways, the graphic-novel art style skinned with hand-drawn-like textures) lessens the impact of the violence—though the game is still considered a high-end Teen.”

Oh, the ESRB. You make us laugh. So, so hard.
