THQ today confirmed that WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2011 will join with UFC Undisputed 2010 in making customers pay to play if the game is pre-owned.

Like UFC Undisputed 2010 THQ will ship a unique one time use code with the upcoming WWE game, this code will be required to play the game online and will be tied to the first console on which it is entered. However as a bonus to gamers who buy the game ‘New’ the code will also give access to the games first DLC pack for free, the pack will feature Chris Masters as a playable character and costumes for Rey Mysterio and Kelly Kelly.

If you acquire the game pre-owned then get scratching off those points cards as THQ is charging 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live or $9.99 on the Playstation Store to unlock the online feature.

During THQ’s Q1 earnings call, CEO Brian Farrell told investors that the new pre-owned strategy “will increase our digital revenue, engage players with our games for a longer period of time and reduce the impact of used games.”

THQ’s CEO also said THQ had an online content strategy for each major release in future – with which it planned to deliver “robust downloadable content and premium online play”.

This weeks Rock Band DLC features three more tracks from American industrial metal band Ministry.

Founded in 1981 by Al Jourgensen, it took several band member changes and a total sound overhaul before Ministry finally broke into the mainstream with their 1991 hit “Jesus Built My Hotrod,” which will be coming to Rock Band next week, and the ensuing LP Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs. Ministry disbanded in 2008, but over the course of the band’s 27 years of performing, they paved the way for American industrial metal. Their songs have been featured in movies such as The Matrix, for which they received a GrammyAward nomination, and the 2009 Academy Award-winning film The Hurt Locker.

Activision today have revealed that  life-to-date sales of Call of Duty Map Packs (DLC) have passed the 20 million units sold mark.

These numbers take into account all DLC released for the whole franchise on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. They also included the two Modern Warfare 2 Map Packs from this year (2010).

“The Call of Duty franchise is unique in the world of entertainment and delivers one of the best multiplayer experiences ever,” said Activision Blizzard CEO Robert Kotick.

“We are thrilled to deliver to fans exciting and engaging content that has the intensity they have come to expect from the franchise.”

It’s worth noting however for those of you that didn’t catch Activision’s E3 announcement, that all DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released first exclusively on Xbox 360 in a deal that runs until 2012.

At this point VGTribune doesn’t have the ‘Per Platform’ sales data but we will be sure to bring it to you when we do, along with some more bad Idiom’s.
