First PlayStation Move Commercial jabs at Natal, Wii

Published by Alexis Santos in Uncategorized. 2 Comments

The “Vice President of PlayStation” Kevin Butler is at it again. In the very first commercial for Sony’s PlayStation Move, Sony makes sure to compare it to the Wii and Microsoft’s Project Natal. On how accurate Move can be when it tracks movement, the fictional took a jab at waggle, “‘Not just like this (waggle motion), but like this . . . ‘Cause real boxers don’t hit like this (waggle).”

Now onto Project Natal bashing. On its lack of buttons: “Plus, PlayStation move is not only crazy precise, it’s also got what we in the future call “buttons,” which turn out to be pretty important to those handful of millions of people who enjoy playing a shooter or platformers or, well, anything that doesn’t involve catching a big red ball. I mean, come on, who wants to pretend their hand is a gun. What is this? The Third grade? Pew. Pew. Pew. Pew. *skeptical laughter*”

Like Sony’s ad campaign for a change or do you think it’s another flop like Sony’s previous campaigns? Let us know you’re thought in the comments!

PS3 Slim TV Ads Hits Japan, Baffle the Mind

Published by Alexis Santos in Uncategorized. 3 Comments

Out of all the video game companies we’ve seen we think Sony takes the cake in creating the weirdest advertisements imaginable. First there was the PlayStaion 3 ad with the baby and now there’s the one above. It’s weird as can be, but at least that makes it memorable. But, what does it say bout the PS3?

[Thanks RaknarokZero!]

Some may be wondering why GTA IV’s DLC, The Lost and The Damned hasn’t launched yet. And frankly, we don’t know. But we do know you’ll be happy that it will be available for download 5:00 am EST Tuesday morning. Wondering what time that is in your neck of the woods? Click here to find out.

[Thanks for tweeting this Major Nelson!]

Published by Alexis Santos in Uncategorized. 4 Comments

VGTribune LogoYes, we like our new logo too. :)

We now look markedly different than we did earlier today and theres only one thing can explain that phenomena. The site crashed…again. Who knew upgrading to the latest WordPress could have such an affect? Thankfully, our redesign should be up by the end of this week, so you won’t have to endure this “transitional” theme much longer.

Please bear with our growing pains. Thanks for stopping by VGTribune!

During one of the few times I emerge from the Bat Cave, similar but legally distinct to THE Batman’s cave, I happened to spot the Spore Galactic Edition on clearance, dare I say, for $49.99 right next to the regular edition for the same price. Now we must ask ourselves what bright, discerning shopper would go for the regular edition rather than the Galactic Edition sitting right next to it.

We thought we would let you guys know of this deal just in case any of you were still holding out on buying Spore, but couldn’t resist a deal this good.
Admittedly, it still isn’t a good enough deal for me to ignore it’s tepid reviews. Sorry Will.

The Future of Gaming: A Look at 2009

Published by Alexis Santos in Uncategorized. 1 Comments

Hello everyone. I’m here posting fresh off a game of Left 4 Dead, one of the best games of last year and a great game overall that advanced the way we play games. Why am I mentioning this you ask? Because in the next few years we are not going to be seeing things as quality as a game like Left 4 Dead. Due to the economic struggle, game budgets will be postponed. Now, 2009 will not be affected as much as 2010-2012.

It’s tempting for me to get back into WoW especially after Wrath of The Lich King’s release, but I’ve been able to resist it’s siren song for several months now. How long will Alexis be able to hold out from playing World of Warcraft? Will he ever play it again? Will he ever play another MMO?! Find out next time on…well….you probably won’t see anymore posts if I start playing WoW again. So, you’ll know!

Naughty Nintendo Marathon to Kick Off December 26th

72 Painful Hours of Nintendo Licensed Shovelware to be Played by a 3 Man Team

Orlando, FL – December 23, 2008 -

Nintendo’s been naughty this year and Santa ain’t getting them nuthin’ for Chrsitmas. “Why?,” you ask? Licensing shovelware of course! More than ten shovelware and all around Grade “A,” just as good as manure, titles will be crammed into 3 days of mind numbing game terror. Ambulances will be standing by as we expect casualties in the crew as a result of “You call this a game?! I”ve gone blind!!” and “Oh my God, my eyes are bleeding!!” syndromes. What games could sell so many copies, yet be so devastating to life and gaming as we know it?!  Ninjabread Man, Anubis 2, Rig Racer 2, Chicken Shoot, Jenga… And MANY MORE!!!

We know what you’re thinking. “Where can I pay witness to this glorious 3 day expose of shovelware?!” Why, you can watch the entire event LIVE on Ustream by following this link: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/vgtribune

“Why would they put themselves through such horror?!” Well it’s simple! Because money for Child’s Play Charity is being raised

“Who would sponsor such an amazing marathon?!” The Naughty Nintendo Nonstop Shovelware Marathon is officially sponsored by VGTribune.com. The marathon is surprisingly not sponsored by Conspiracy Entertainment, makers of fine shovelware.

Developers, please remember to put some effort into your games, we know it’s not easy, but please….shovelware kills polar bears and melts ice caps. Do you want to be responsible for global warming? Of course not!

VGTribune.com is a video game news blog delivering video game news all day, every day since June 2008.

Conspiracy Entertainment is in no way a sponsor of this marathon or of VGTribune.com.
