Steam Link App Coming Soon

This morning Valve sent out a press release announcing the release of a mobile app that will act similarly to a Steam Link, those small streaming boxes Valve put out a few years ago that go for about $5 now, so we’ll be able to stream any Steam games to whatever mobile device you like. There won’t be the benefit of ethernet connection for these however, you’ll have to stick with Wi-fi or LTE connection; but at the very least it seems that you’ll be able to use any controller that you can connect to your phone, and there may even be a firmware update for the Steam controller allowing it to be used over bluetooth without the dongle it currently uses. Not much has been said about it, and there isn’t really much to say about it other than what it is. We can expect to start using it in a couple weeks, when it launches the week of May 21st.

Valve also announced a Steam Video app that releases later this summer. You probably won’t use it, but hey it’s there.
