Our latest search of the US Patent and Trademark Office has turned up a new trademark filing by Square Enix on May 21 for ‘Auctions of Atlantis‘. Within the filing there is the usual mention of “computer game software; video game software,” but  what’s particularly interesting is the inclusion of  ”. . .on-line video games . . . via computer networks and global communication networks.”

Since the language is similar to those in filings for other MMO’s such as World of Warcraft, it’s possible “Auctions of Atlantis” is  an MMO. At the very least, it’s clear that Square Enix is intending to include online components in whatever “Auctions of Atlantis” may be.

Not only has Square Enix filed to trademark the name, but it’s also registered AuctionsOfAtlantis.com. Square Enix Fans will likely only have to wait two more weeks until more is revealed at E3 to find out what all this Auctions of Atlantis nonsense is about.
