Sony Gives Date for PS3 3D Support

Published by Kieron Craggs in PlayStation 3. |

As reported by myself in early March, the ’3D’ update for the PS3 will launch in June. Sony has now confirmed this and given us a date on which the update will be pushed.

The long awaited Firmware update will be pushed to all PS3 owners on June 10th, and will be usable by all providing they have a compatible 3D TV. It’s also worth a mention that you will need a pair of 3D glasses.

In conjunction with this Firmware release, patches for Sony Liverpools’ Wipeout HD and Housemarque’s Super Stardust HD will be pushed, adding 3-dimensional ‘trippy’ fun.

However it is worth adding that this update will NOT bring 3D Blu-ray support, this is something that will come later in the year.
