The Resident Evil series turns 20 today – let that sink in for a moment.

It’s a bit surreal to think that on March 22nd, 1996, the S.T.A.R.S.’ (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) lives would forever be changed once they entered the zombie-infested mansion located on the outskirts of Raccoon City. Fast forward to 2016, and we see that the Resident Evil franchise has evolved into one of the most recognizable brands in survival horror gaming.

To celebrate this monumental occasion, Capcom has released new footage of an interview with Kiroyuki Kobayashi (Producer, Resident Evil) which highlights his experiences, trials, and tribulations with the series.

In addition to Kobayashi, there will be other developer interviews scheduled to launch throughout the upcoming year. The interviewees chosen are from the select few that ‘played a vital role’ in shaping the Resident Evil brand.

What did you think of Kobayashi’s interview above? Let us know in the comments section!
