All aboard the ‘remake’ hype train – another game publisher has joined the ranks to bring back a highly recognized title. In a video announcement released by Capcom this morning, Resident Evil 2 is officially being remade for the modern generation.
The announcement was made by Capcom employee, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi. Hirabayashi, who also assumed the Producer role on the Resident Evil HD Remaster, had many things to say about the upcoming remake in the short video. One particularly exciting point cited was about how driven the community had been in offering feedback/ideas about the potential remake.
“For now we want our fans to know that we appreciate all the feedback and support we’ve received on this title. We’re looking forward to delivering this highly anticipated Resident Evil experience that fans have been waiting for.”
While no official launch date or list of supporting platforms have been given, Hirabayashi told gamers that Capcom will try it’s best to ‘deliver news and messages about this project to you, the fans, directly’. Resident Evil fans can now only wait patiently as Capcom attempts to recreate one of the most compellingly frightening games from the survival horror genre.
