If you haven’t heard by now, fans of the Metroid series are looking forward to the latest in the Metroid Prime line of games. Although, it is more of a spin-off, and not a lot are actually looking forward to it. Metroid Prime: Federation Force caused a lot of controversy among Nintendo followers when first revealed at last year’s E3, and hasn’t been easily welcomed by many.

Today, Nintendo has announced that the multiplayer co-op shooter for the 3DS is coming late summer of this year. It’s coming out 19th August in North America, and a bit later on the 2nd of September on European shores. If you can’t wait to explore more of the galaxy with your mates, your opportunity may be arising! The game will be playable at the Nintendo booth at year’s PAX East in Boston, which is happening this weekend. Monster Hunter Generations and Kirby: Planet Robobot will also be on the show floor for those curious about them.

So, are you bothered by this new venture into the Metroid Prime universe, or do you just want a true installment in the franchise? Make your voice heard in the comments below!
