The time is nigh, No Man’s Sky fans: the game has gone gold and is officially set to release in mid-August!

Per a tweet by Sean Murray (Founder, Hello Games), the post showcased the development team celebrating behind the game’s first ‘unofficial’ physical copy.

“It happened. No Man’s Sky just went gold. I’m so incredibly proud of this tiny team. 4 years of emotions”

For those living underneath a rock for the past few years, No Man’s Sky is a highly anticipated, space-themed exploration game. The game was first showcased at E3 in 2014, and aims to offer a truly open world experience by producing procedurally generated (content generated dynamically via mathematical algorithms) universes.

If the game truly delivers on this concept, the chances of any two players seeing the same planet are extremely slim. That, ladies and gentlemen, is truly the definition of ‘open world’, and we welcome it with open arms.
