Remember those games Nintendo unveiled at E3 that you’ve just been waiting for hear about, well stop waiting because today at the Nintendo Media Summit new information is out on Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M. The surprise? They are both coming out before the end of the first half of the year.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 now has a new trailer up as well as many cool screenshots. The game appears to be set as a more traditional Mario game in the sense of no overworld, but keep the same gameplay elements as Galaxy, while however introducing Yoshi as playable as well as a new screw thing that took up a fair amount of the video. Super Mario Galaxy 2 has a surprising release date of May 23rd this year.
Moving onto Metroid: Other M, more information on the game was announced today revealing that the trailer we saw was the actual game. Other M will not only feature 3d platforming as well as first person shooting. The game is set to be a sequel to famed Super Metroid. This will be the first game to feature actual voice acting by Samus. So far the screenshots look great however be wary that they are better resolution than the console experience. Metroid: Other M is set to be released June 27th.
In other news WiiWare bound Cave Story will be out next month on March 22nd. The game will have fresher graphics, remixed music, and some more for fans. Sin and Punishment 2 is coming to Sin & Punishment: Star Successor (ironic name since the first was never officially released in the US). This is a first person shooting on rails game and will be out June 7th. For those Monster Hunter fans, Wii MMO Monster Hunter Tri finally has a release date of April 20th. There will be no subscription fee and the game will feature WiiSpeak support as well.
Finally the DSi XL gets priced and dated in America. We are gonna see a $189.99 price point with a release on March 28th.
And that wraps up the Nintendo news for the day. Wow. Who’s excited, I am. As of this moment I will probably be picking up Mario, Metroid, Cave Story, and Monster Hunter Tri… This year is hell on my wallet.
