Hello, and welcome to our eighth entry for Music Monday! The staff and readers will pick different video game tunes every week, so your Monday can be a bit brighter.

We start things off with a tune from VG Tribune’s Will Thompson. Will has chosen the song, ‘Rainy Day’, from the original Animal Crossing. If this song doesn’t strike nostalgia into your hearts, then I don’t know what will.

Our first fan submission for the week comes from Travon Williams, who has selected this upbeat, catchy Teckworks remix of the ‘Search Man Theme’ from Mega Man 8.

Our next staff pick comes from Matthew Gibson, who has picked another classic: ‘Staff Roll’ from Kid Icarus: Uprising. Listen to that beautiful trumpet and strings introduction!

The final fan submission comes from Jack Gawn, who has picked a remix of the ‘Launch Base Theme’ from Sonic Generations. You heard the song…Go, Go, Go!!!

I will end this week’s suggestions by taking everything down a notch (or twenty) with a soothing, melodic and absolutely authentic Piano cover of ‘Zazen Town’ from Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon. This is my favorite piece in the Mystical Ninja series, and YouTube user FLAP03 captures the musical beauty of this song through their performance.

Well, that’s it for this week! If you have a suggestion of your own, make sure to leave it in the comments section below!
