Mini Review: iWater Flow

iWater Flow Home Screen

When we pull out our iPhone or iPod touch to game, we usually do so to pass by a few minutes of our time. iPhone/iPod touch games don’t always have to be the grand scale experience we see on consoles, just a bit sized diversion.

Is iWater Flow a good bite sized diversion that will help to pass time at the bank or in class?

Find the answer to that question and details about a giveaway after the jump!

iWater Flow is simple yet entertaining. It’s just like the water toys you may, or may not have, played with when you were much younger. Just press the buttons, a burst of water will push the rings up and the player’s goal becomes to land the rings on the “goals” within the level.

Players can coax the rings onto the goals by either using more bursts of water or by tilting their device. iWater Flow comes with four different stages and three different gameplay modes which include “Classic,” “Rush,” and “Time Attack.” Also built into iWater Flow is a chat system called “OpenFeint” which allows players to communicate with other iPhone and iPodTouch users.

iWater Flow Thumbs

My only gripe with iWater Flow is that it has a pair of disembodied thumbs that don’t seem to ever stop showing you how to press the buttons. Aside from that small (and glaring) detail, iWater Flow is an incredibly polished game when considering its simplicity and $1.99 price tag. How can a $1.99 iPhone/iPod Touch game be polished? Shake your device when iWater Flow is on and the water will move and sound accordingly.

It’s simple, it’s cheap and it’s a great time waster (especially in your “office,” also known as the “water closet” in some areas of the world). iWater Flow is available here on the iTunes store for $1.99
