As of today, the signups for Zenimax Studio’s Elder Scrolls Online Beta have begun. Along with this, comes a new cinematic trailer on par with that of the Mists of Pandaria trailer. We have yet to see a substantial amount of gameplay for the game, and for many the concept of it is looking bleak. It had been previously announced that all players will be on one giant “mega-server” so won’t have to worry about not being able to join the server that your friends are on; this is been a debated topic, because of people’s desire to not be in a densely populated world.

Personally, I am among the skeptics, but I am open-minded enough toward it that I signed up for the beta. I recommend everyone tries to sign up for it, because for all we know, the game could turn out to be absolutely incredible and unlike any MMO experience that we have ever seen before.

More about the story has also been revealed today, we now know that the three alliances you can choose to join – the Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant, and Ebonheart Pact – are at war over the Imperial City in Cyrodiil. The name may sound familiar, since it was the place where you started the game in Oblivion, and if you aren’t aware yet, you’ll be happy to know that in this adventure, you will be able to travel across all of Tamriel. Yes, even Elsweyr.

To sign up for the beta, go to this sign up page, the day that betas start being sent out is yet to be determined.
