Fans of the N64 classic Banjo-Kazooie were stocked when past members of Rare came together to start work on a spiritual successor to the franchise, Yooka-Laylee. It saw tremendous support over on Kickstarter, reaching its goal of £175,000 just 40 minutes after going live, and reaching a million pounds just the day after. Playtonic Games, the developers behind the game, have released a brand new trailer for this year’s E3, which is the first footage we have seen in over a year. The game is looking gorgeous and there’s even a comical scene between the chameleon and bat at the end, so please indulge yourself in the 3D platforming goodness below!

If you noticed, the game will be coming out early next year, meaning there has been a slight delay from its original planned release window of October of this year. They have decided to give the game a few months’ polish to the game, allowing them to bring a better game overall. You can check out their full statement by clicking here.

Are you looking forward to Yooka-Laylee once it comes out? Or have you played the classic Rare platformer (and its sequal) before? Let us know your thoughts done in the comments below.
