Sony just wrapped up their E3 press conference this year and, once again, The Last Guardian was nowhere to be seen. With a problematic and difficult development that has pushed the game’s release back and back again from 2011, 2012, and finally to an unspecified time, it’s hard to say that the game might actually become vaporware. As the third game from the famous Team Ico, it’s not hard to say that it was one of the most notable and most talked about game trailers of 2009.
The last we heard about the Last Guardian was right before the Vita announcement, in 2011, when a short “vertical slice” of the game was made available to members of the press. It wasn’t until shortly after that the lead designer of the game, Fumito Ueda, departed from employment with Sony. Although he has stayed on as a consultant with the project, not much else is known.
With all that said and done, Sony, why not tell us what’s up with the game? Even a small glimpse or update would be appreciated.

June 4, 2012 at 11:58 PMWow, was it really ’09? I don’t care if it’s simply taking a long time to develop, but the fact that we aren’t shown anything makes me worry something else might be going on with it.
