Doom Open Beta Starts on April 15th

Doom fans who missed their chance to partake in the gory, glory-killing action during the closed beta will now be able to do so starting April 15th.

Bethesda announced yesterday that the open beta of Doom will begin on Friday, April 15th at 12 AM EST for PS4, Xbox One, and PC/Steam users. During the open beta, players will have the opportunity to participate in the same two modes (Team Deathmatch and Warpath) and maps (Heatwave and Infernal) that the closed beta had. The beta will close promptly on Sunday, April 17th at 11:59 PM EST. The full game is set to launch on Friday, May 13th.

If you’re wanting to get a head start, you can start pre-loading the beta on April 12th. Pre-loading instructions can be found for each system below:

Beta Download Instructions (for PS4):

1.) On your PS4, Go to the PlayStation® Store.
2.) Select ‘Search’ from the top menu.
3.) In the search field, type ‘DOOM.’
4.) Select ‘DOOM Open Beta’ from the search result list.
5.) Click the ‘Download’ button.

Beta Download Instructions (for Xbox One):

1.) On your Xbox One, go the Xbox Store.
2.) Select ‘Search All Games.’
3.) In the search field, type ‘DOOM.’
4.) Find and select the ‘DOOM Open Beta’ product.
5.) Click the ‘Download’ button.

Beta Download Instructions (for Steam/PC):

1.) Open the Steam client and select the ‘Store’ button.
2.) In the ‘search the store’ field type in ‘DOOM’.
3.) Select ‘DOOM Open Beta’ from the search interface.
4.) Scroll down and press the ‘Play Game’ button.
