Nintendo has recently revealed details on the Tourney mode coming to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. And well, it’s arriving this Friday! On the 31st of July, the much-anticipated Tourney mode, in addition to the ability to upload replays to YouTube, will be made available for smashers around the globe. What’s more, is that there will be two distinct categories when it comes to tournaments. Community Tourneys, much like how they work in Mario Kart 8, have players battling it out in hopes in getting more points than each other in a certain amount of time. Regular Tourneys seem to play in a more ‘Elimination’ style, as in the winner gets to move on. However, there will be more detailed rulesets, and only happen at certain times, which suggests normal users are unable to create these kind of tourneys.

But WAIT! There’s more! King K. Rool is finally in Smash!

King K. Rool costume

As a Mii Fighter costume… Oh well. At least Mr. Sakurai at least KNOWS of his existence. Regardless, two new costumes will be added. Whilst on the topic of crushed dreams, Chrom, a highly anticipated AND expected character for the franchise before Robin and Lucina’s reveal, is being added as a costume for the Swordfighter class. Plus, another Smash hoodie will be available for every type of Mii.

But WAIT! There’s more! Two classic stages from Smash 64, Peach’s Castle and Hyrule Castle, will also be made available for purchase. And judging by the official Smash Bros. Twiiter account in Japan, it seems it will be for both versions, as they mentioned two prices.

Will you be picking up some, if not all, of this DLC on Friday? Or will you be busy competing in tourneys or uploading old replays to YouTube?
