We here at VGTribune.com have decided to do something that has probably claimed more lives than World of Warcraft. Yep, thats right. A Zelda marathon. From this Friday (May, 9th) evening to about Sunday evening we will be trying to beat as many 3D console Zelda games as we can. We originally planned to set a speed run record for the series, but we found out that in order to do so, you must be hopped up on a low grade beaver tranquilizer. Why might someone need to be hopped up on low grade beaver tranquilizer? In order to beat Ocarina of Time in two hours and a half. That's why. Instead, we just plan to see how many Zelda games we can beat in this short period of time.
Members of the marathon will be Terry Jackson, David Janovich, and myself, Alexis Santos. We will start in chronological order with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and may even finish off with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. During the course of the marathon we will have a live video feed courtesy of ustream.tv. Just Click the picture above, watch, and be amazed with moving pictures and sound! We plan to start the live video feed this Friday at approximately 6:00 p.m. est., so tune in if you like.

Well it's over! 48 hours later and we beat 2 games and got through half of Wind Waker. I'll post more details tomorrow, because I am totally exhausted. By the way, High five to the guys at CameronBanga, our brothers from other mothers, for doing a Zelda marathon too and raising money for the Child's Play charity a few months back! You guys are great!

Good luck with the Zelda-ness! Heck, I'll join you in the Zelda marathon with my Monster Hunter Marathon! =) Also, to stay awake, I suggest eating spicy food. Don't eat pepper though. Thanks Ares! We've got a hot dog roller on top of the mini fridge so we'll baste the hot dogs with hot sauce as they warm up on the rollers. lol *Note to self. DO NOT EAT PEPPER...or else (or else = digestive issues I assume) |

Dude, that was fun. We may have set standards a little high, but I'm proud of how far we got. And again, my hat goes off to you, the egg collector, technician and chief in charge of manning the chat, Jordan, for picking up the slack, doing the dirty work and doing what we couldn't, and David, the stone who took care of the basics and made sure the rest of us were good to go to the end. Can't wait to do it again, bro. |
