Kater's Return, Exclusive beta testing of The Ruins of Balam

Posted by Kater in Sony PlayStation 3live streamBeta Games

Kater
Okay everyone I'm back.  Sorry that I was gone.  I was away at Carnegie Mellon for six weeks at a program for Game Programming, Design, and Art.  It's a pre-college.  Don't fret though because for all VGTribune Members I will be emailing out a Beta of The Ruins of Balam, a game I made in a small development team while I was there.  That's not all however, starting either tomorrow or Monday the Kater Live Stream Show starts back up with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots after the unwrapping my new PS3.  So look forward in the next month to Beta testing The Ruins of Balam (PC only), watching MGS 4, and some awesome news.  I might have another game surprise in September :D.

Just reminding everyone that daily I am Live Streaming Video Games. You can also look in my old videos for full footage of Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Metal Gear Solid 1-3, and an assortment of other videos such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii. Currently I am finishing unlocking everything in Mario Kart Wii and will be playing through Tales of Symphonia and Pokemon Red Version in the near future. Times vary daily so please come and have a look. You are always welcome to come and chat with the many viewers always there when I'm casting. I will be streaming at random times throughout the afternoon (if at all), but can always be found in the evening (aprox. 8 pm- 2 am). Also, if you enjoy my show, a paypal will be opening soon so that I can afford a PS3. It is not a nessecity to donate, but all, and any donations will be greatly appreciated.

30 Day Wii Fit Marathon Live Stream with Kater

Starting on May 20th, 2008 VGTribune.com contributor Kater (pronounced Cat-er), will do a live stream of Wii Fit for 30 days. If your thinking: "ZOMG!!! He's gonna play Wii Fit for 30 days straight!?!? He is teh 1NSAN3!" Well, he is going to be playing Wii Fit for 30 days, but he will only be playing for a few minutes (approximately 20 minutes) each day as he tracks his progress. Each day at around 8:00 pm est. Kater will begin his daily "Wii Fit Challenge" on ustream.tv. A link to the show is here or click on the picture above to start watching and chatting. Come on over and watch Kater play, sweat, and maybe even pass out from exhaustion! Well....we hope not...but hey, it could happen!

UPDATE: Day one is over! You can watch recordings of the streams here. The recordings include the unboxing of Wii Fit and Kater's first workouts!

Keep it up Kater!!!

UPDATE: After eight tiring days Wii fit streams with Kater are no more. Contrary to popular belief, Kater did not stop due to heat stroke or because his calf muscles got so big they exploded, but instead because Wii Fit could not hold this gamer's attention for 30 days. Even though the streams were cut short, it was always entertaining to see him complain about the difficulty of the various exercises.  Although the WiiFit streams are done, you may still want to stop by the ustream channel to see him play various games on occasion.

Legend of Zelda Marathon

We here at VGTribune.com have decided to do something that has probably claimed more lives than World of Warcraft. Yep, thats right. A Zelda marathon. From this Friday (May, 9th) evening to about Sunday evening we will be trying to beat as many 3D console Zelda games as we can. We originally planned to set a speed run record for the series, but we found out that in order to do so, you must be hopped up on a low grade beaver tranquilizer. Why might someone need to be hopped up on low grade beaver tranquilizer? In order to beat Ocarina of Time in two hours and a half. That's why. Instead, we just plan to see how many Zelda games we can beat in this short period of time.

Members of the marathon will be Terry Jackson, David Janovich, and myself, Alexis Santos. We will start in chronological order with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and may even finish off with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. During the course of the marathon we will have a live video feed courtesy of ustream.tv. Just Click the picture above, watch, and be amazed with moving pictures and sound! We plan to start the live video feed this Friday at approximately 6:00 p.m. est., so tune in if you like.

How many Zelda games will we beat? How long will it take us? Will one of us fall asleep? Will we survive? What's that smell?...Oh my God! It's a fire! I gotta go! See you guys Friday!

Well it's over! 48 hours later and we beat 2 games and got through half of Wind Waker. I'll post more details tomorrow, because I am totally exhausted. By the way, High five to the guys at CameronBanga, our brothers from other mothers, for doing a Zelda marathon too and raising money for the Child's Play charity a few months back! You guys are great!

As a result of our ramblings (and mistakes) the following photoshops were made:
