It's what you've been looking for all your life!

Yes thats right, the PSP-3000 model was announced today at Leipzig.  Oh wait, did they not just release the PSP-2000 a year ago.  Really Sony, stop remaking this already.  Not only that, but the new features are pathetic.  A built in microphone, we've never seen that before (sarcasm), a better LCD screen with more glare resistant.  So, tell me if I'm wrong, but please tell me, how does two announcement a year later cause the PSP to be called a new version, replace the Slim.  No pricing or release dates yet for the new PSP model.

Click to play video in new window.

Gary Oldman, who plays Gotham City's police lieutenant Jim Gordon in "The Dark Night," has revealed to G4 that a "The Dark Night" game is being made. He says he was shown a piece of the game and that the developers are focusing on Batman's gliding. If the game is as any good as the movie, this may just be the best movie t game crossover. We'll just have to hope that Superman 64 isn't a sign of what's to come.

Speaking of Batman and Superman, which one do you think is better? Battle it out in the comments!

Duke Nukem Trilogy logo

Apogee Software has announced it's plans to bring Duke Nukem to the PSP and DS in the form of a trilogy, with the first game in the series releasing next summer. The trilogy will be comprised of Critical Mass, Chain Reaction, and Proving Grounds. Do we think this trilogy will actually be released in a timely fashion, unlike Duke Nukem Forever? Yes. Why are we so convinced? Because it's being developed by Apogee Software, not 3D Realms. Well....we still can't be to sure...

Heres what Apogee has to say about the game:

9 Different World Locations

36 Action-Packed Levels

3D Accelerated Graphics

3D Characters with Detailed Textures

Real-Time Particle and Lighting Effects

Multi-Mode Play with up to 5 Different Styles of Game Play Action

Multi-Player Action

Total Ass-Kicking Weapons

Online retailer Amazon has listed Star Wars Battlefront III for XBOX 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2, PSP and Nintendo DS with a place holder date of March 15, 2009. With E3 just a week away and the previous Star Wars Battlefront games being quite successful, it's extremely likely that Star Wars Battlefront III will be officially announced very shortly (read: E3). And if you're eager to put down some cash for the as of yet, officially unannounced game, you can pre-order the version you want from Amazon here.

PSP and "Lifestyle" applications

To further the PlayStation's brand use for non-gaming situations (like checking the weather and the news on the PS3), Sony has included "lifestyle" applications for the PSP in a business briefing today. This mention may point to an announcement for a release in North America at E3 since these applications have already been announced for Europe. These applications (in conjunction with peripherals) range from video-on-demand, camera functionality, GPS functionality, and even VoIP video chat.

  5. Wii Play (w/ remote) – Wii – Nintendo – 294.6K
  6. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Wii – Nintendo – 171.1K
  7. Iron Man - PS2 – Sega – 130.6K
  8. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - Wii – Activision – 116.8K
  9. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness - DS – Nintendo – 107K
  10. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time - DS – Nintendo – 102K

Hardware Sales:
  1. Wii - 675,100 units
  2. DS Lite - 452,600 units

  4. XBOX 360 - 186,600 units
  5. PSP - 182,300 units
  6. PS2 - 132,700 units

Although analysts were expecting to see a jump in consoles sales led by Grand Theft Auto IV, it didn't happen. This leaves the Wii and the DS Lite on top, for yet another month of Nintendominance.  (See what I did there!? :D) Overall, sales are "slightly down from April," but they are up from last year. Analysts expect a jump in sales in June to coincide with gift giving for Father's Day.
