No cutscenes in Left 4 Dead!

Well, there is one opening cutscene and then none for the rest of the game.  Basically, Valve made the game so that the story will be told through dialogue and maybe some text popping up.  I think its a really innovative way to tell a game story.

Alright, so we are in the final stretch of '08, aka the Holiday season meaning a ton of games are coming out.  So what am I excited for?  Read below.

 Number 10:

Moon (DS)

Moon is a DS game that I kept hearing some hype about but never really cared about.  It's an unknown game with an unknown publisher, Mastiff.  Being devoloped by Renegade Kid, none of their work comes to mind.  When I was reading Matt Cassamassina's blog, as I always do, I saw him remarking about how Moon is a lot like Metroid on the DS done right.  When I heard that from him, I knew that this must be a good game.  I am excited for it, obviously, as it made the list.  It is coming out November 18, 2008.  It is an FPS in which you navigate the Moon fighting aliens.  It sounds cliche, but on the DS it sounds great.  I am really anticipating this game and am excited to play it this holiday season.

 Number 9:

Samba de Amigo Wii (Wii)

As you know, I am excited about this game.  I really like Sega's classic characters, and while lately we have seen poor renditions of Sonic and NiGHTS, I have faith in our little monkey friend Amigo.  I like the maraccas and hope that this game is good, it is hard for even Sega to ruin a rhythm game.  Comes out September 23, 2008.

Wrath of The Lich King Cinematic to debut at Leipzig Games Convention

Blizzard is famous for it's "when it's ready" line and it seems that they have labeled the much anticipated Wrath of The Lich King cinematic as ready. Many outlets are reporting that Blizzard's cinematic will be shown at the Leipzig Games Convention on August 21 at 1:00 pm. Thats, three days folks! Although this blogger has stopped playing World of Warcraft (for now), I am always awed by the detail and all around awesomeocity of Blizzard's cinematics. Let's just hope this cinematic is not enough for this blogger to pick up the game again, because this blogger still wants to keep his life outside of Azeroth alive.

At the Gamefest 2008 event on Tuesday, Microsoft announced that all Games for Windows Live multiplayer features are now free. These features include; multiplayer achievements, matchmaking, cross-platform play with the Xbox 360, GFW voice chat, and more. All of which previously required a GFW Live Gold account. The change is effective immediately and across all GFW titles, both past and future. Personally, I think this is great but still not enough to make me go from Bioshock 360 to Bioshock PC.
