Disaster: Day of Crisis

That's right. Disaster: Day of Crisis launches in Japan not September 25th of 2009, but September 25th, 2008. We know what your asking yourself. "But, wait! How can this be possible? We're only finding out about this 3 weeks before it comes out!" You see this is the magic of Nintendo's new announcement strategy! Don't announce a game 3 years before it comes out ( we're looking at you Twilight Princess) instead, announce it just three weeks before and catch everyone off guard! Isn't it great?! Let us know what you think in the comments!

The Conduit to use Wii Balance board?

Posted by Alexis Santos in Nintendo WiiNintendoFirst Person Shooters

The Conduit

Although The Conduit may not be the first game that comes to mind when one thinks of the Wii Balance Board, the developers have said that Wii Balance Board support is not out of the question.

In an interview with IGN, Eric Sofsinger, Chief Creative Officer for The Conduit, said:

We've had some interesting requests... even folks wanting us to support the Wii Fit and things like that. We're lookin' at it and saying 'does it make sense?'. And if there's things like that, and we go... it doesn't take away from the primary gameplay mode, it doesn’t take a colossal amount of effort, and it makes some segment of the core gamers happy, we'll explore it.

Although we're not sure how exactly the Balance Board would fit in The Conduit's gameplay, we sure love the developer's attitude toward balance board support.

In depth "The Conduit" control customization wlakthrough

Posted by Alexis Santos in Nintendo WiiFirst Person Shooters

Alexis Santos

We've played many a Wii first person shooter whose controls we wanted to tweak so they would have the ideal Wii FPS controls. Previously we could only complain and dream about what a game could have been, but now The Conduit will provide us with the means to put our complaints to use by including in depth control customization. The video above makes us wish that this same amount of customization would have been included in other Wii first person shooters as they would have made the experience much more enjoyable. This blogger can't wait to edit the "dead zone" since it's been his main gripe with many other Wii shooters.

Disaster Day of Crisis to launch October 24th in Europe

Disaster: Day of Crisis

Nintendo's new marketing strategy of springing the news of a games release date within just days of it's release is definitely in effect. Yesterday there were image leaks and rumblings that led some to believe the much anticipated, yet oft forgotten, Disaster: Day of Crisis was going to see a release, or release date announcement, very soon. Today, Nintendo of Europe confirmed the rumblings and announced via press release that Disaster: Day of Crisis will be in European store shelves on October 24th, 2008 (That's a little over a month people!).

As for our North American comrades, there is still no word on a North American release date for Disaster: Day of Crisis. Although we suspect that as with Mario Kart Wii Europe will get a leg up on North America with Disaster: Day of Crisis, we ask Nintendo of America if we can get some early Punch-Out!! Wii action before Europe.

You can read the full press release and skinny on the game after the jump.

Nintendo: Disaster Day of Crisis still in development

Posted by Alexis Santos in Nintendo WiiNintendoAdventureAction

If you can't trust the Australian ratings board, who then can you trust when it comes to checking if Disaster: Day of Crisis is still in development? Word comes from GamePro that Nintendo is indeed working on the apocalyptic title.

“Disaster: Day of Crisis is still in development,” a Nintendo of America representative told GamePro on Monday. Unfortunately, the representative would not comment on a tentative release date or when Nintendo might divulge further information."

So, Ninty what's the cause for the delay? Even footage from over a year ago still proves that Disaster: Day of Crisis is one of the best looking Wii games we have seen. It definitely looked near ready for release. Our guess, like most others', is that it was just delayed so Nintendo can space out there release of first party games. But, could there be another reason? Even though it probably wasn't initially delayed for Wii MotionPlus, there is a very good possibility it was delayed a little further to have enough time to implement Wii MotionPlus into the gameplay. Stunning graphics, potential for a great story, and Wii MotionPlus? Sign us up!

Kater's Top 10 Games for Q3 and Q4 of 2008

Kater

Alright, so we are in the final stretch of '08, aka the Holiday season meaning a ton of games are coming out.  So what am I excited for?  Read below.

 Number 10:

Moon (DS)

Moon is a DS game that I kept hearing some hype about but never really cared about.  It's an unknown game with an unknown publisher, Mastiff.  Being devoloped by Renegade Kid, none of their work comes to mind.  When I was reading Matt Cassamassina's blog, as I always do, I saw him remarking about how Moon is a lot like Metroid on the DS done right.  When I heard that from him, I knew that this must be a good game.  I am excited for it, obviously, as it made the list.  It is coming out November 18, 2008.  It is an FPS in which you navigate the Moon fighting aliens.  It sounds cliche, but on the DS it sounds great.  I am really anticipating this game and am excited to play it this holiday season.

 Number 9:

Samba de Amigo Wii (Wii)

As you know, I am excited about this game.  I really like Sega's classic characters, and while lately we have seen poor renditions of Sonic and NiGHTS, I have faith in our little monkey friend Amigo.  I like the maraccas and hope that this game is good, it is hard for even Sega to ruin a rhythm game.  Comes out September 23, 2008.
