ESPN hosts get "in the game"

ESPN sports pundits get inside the game

Weather men and woman have been interacting via blue/green screen with your forecast for years now and ESPN and EA want to give your sports pundits the same experience by putting them "in the game."

Boiled down, the complex technology, which will make its debut this Sunday on ESPN’s popular “NFL Countdown” program, involves using an Electronic Arts’ title — say Madden NFL 09 — with specialized digital camera equipment in the studio. Presto: Both real and virtual people move around the ESPN set to demonstrate plays and possible situations.

We here at VGTrbiune wouldn't only count this as just a cool feature for ESPN, it could very well be technology EA would like to use in future games or maybe even an arcade game. That said, when was the last time that the Xbox Live Vision Camera, the PlayStation Eye, or the Eye Toy ever have a hit game?

German game magazines give Spore lack luster reviews, New Spore video

Posted by Alexis Santos in PC MacNintendo DSEA

Although the above video feeds the flame and fever that is the hype for Spore, quick to crash the party are two scores from German gaming magazines. German gaming magazines PC Games and Gamestar rated Will Wright's digital child 73 and 79, resectively. But fear not Spore fans, PC Gamer has reviewed Spore Early and has rated it a 91, so there is still hope that this hype is well deserved. Has anyone had their hype train slowed by these early "average" review scores? Let us know in the comments!

Madden promo at 7-11

If for some reason you like paying for stuff that you can normally get for free, head on over to a 7-11. If you purchase a Madden Meal at 7-11, as seen in above photo, you will get a "free"  Madden NFL 09 Xbox 360 demo disk. If you've ran out of hard drive space or don't have an internet connection to download the (completely free) demo, this would be a great way to get your hands on a  Madden NFL 09 Xbox 360 demo. Wait...if you don't have an internet connection....how are you reading this?! And for those of you that can download the demo online, it's best that your $5.97 goes to pre-ordering Spore or something.

You can see a non cardboard version of the meal and find out what's on the demo disk after the jump.

Even though we've seen the same rooftops in the video above in countless other videos, screenshots, and magazine features, we're still impressed at how fun, and not to mention beautiful, this game looks.
