I am left speechless: Idiot parents let child drop out of school to play Guitar Hero

Posted by Hank Peters in RhythmHorrorCulture

There seems to be some sort of mental time-bomb that is resting deep in the minds of almost every adult over the age of 35. At this point in time, the time-bomb planted in their head goes off, and they become incredibly stupid and lack knowledge in anything that involves circuits and everything that is plugged into a wall.

The Peebles are no different. Why, you ask? Because they let their child drop out of high school so he could play Guitar Hero more. The little snot kept whining until he drove his parents out of their sanity. It's almost comforting to know that he still is home schooled, but I still can't get over the fact that his parents agreed to let him quit school so he could play video games. I would understand if the kid wanted to drop out of normal high school to become a composer or (don't laugh) an actual guitar player, as long as the parents relocate him to a more appropriate institute. But to mash five colored buttons on a piece of plastic? ...I'm left speechless.

Videogame Spotting in Videogame Spotting: Halo boxers

While reading Alexis' article regarding Nintendo related energy drinks, I couldn't help but notice something odd in the backround. I did a little extra scouting, and I found myself a pair of Halo themed boxers. Now, this might just be another rumor, but I believe that these are actually the pair that Master Chief used himself in the Halo games, loaded with extra crotch protection. Crotch-tastic!

Videogame Spotting: Donkey Kong and Mario energy drinks

Donkey Kong Energy DrinkMario Energy Drink

While walking by a shelf in an electronics store, I spotted two DK and Mario themed energy drinks that piqued my interest. After paying for the Donkey Kong energy drink, aptly named Jungle Juice, I cracked it opened and began to drink it's sweet jungle nectar. As the Jungle Juice ran down my throat I felt power surging from within me. With gorilla like force I grabbed the nearest princess and proceeded to climb up the closest sky scraper. Soon after, I was foiled by a gentlemen who drank one of the Mario energy drinks left at the store. You too can (not) experience this totally fabricated Mario and Donkey Kong  anecdote for $2.99 and $3.95, respectively.

Triforce inlaid into the floor of Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida

Certainly this must be a shrine to Din, Nayru and Farore, right?! Although we too hoped the floor space the triforces were occupying were the floor of a shrine for the Zelda goddesses, we're sad to say it's only the floor of Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. While on vacation/holiday this weekend, I took a tour of Flagler College when I spotted these out of the corner of my eye and couldn't pass up the opportunity to photograph it.

If you've got any pictures of videogame spottings out in the wild, send 'em our way via our tips email, This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it !

If you're wonderig what kind of a college would have "triforces" inlaid in it's tile flooring, you can find some pictures after the break.

Make your electronics waterproof, game underwater

Posted by Alexis Santos in Culture

Yes, it's true. With some black magic wizardry ($1,000 spray), you too can make you're electronics waterproof as well. Despite the steep price point and the fact that it won't be available until later this year, seeing the video above made our minds run wild with the possibilities for gaming.

Billy Mays: Spilled some juice on your PSP? No problem! Want to play your DS or XBOX 360 under water? No problem!

EDIT: The video above says the coating may cost $50-75 depending on the size of the item. We've contacted the manufacturer to confirm this.

Wii in New York Gym

For those of you walking into your local gym everyday hoping to se a Wii alongside the treadmills and Bowfelxes, you might have to move to New York to make your dreams come true a bit faster. Word comes from Techradar.com that an upscale New York Gym has dedicated a room to Wii Sports and Wii Fit. If you're getting your car in gear to get to New York as fast as you can to play some Wii Sports or Wii Fit, hold on there buddy. You've gotta shell out $120 to play...each session. Each $120 session comes complete with a human trainer! What? Still not enough to convince you to shell out 120 smackeroos? Although it seems the days an average Joe can go to his local gym to exercise with videogames is still a while off, we're glad to see that videogames are beginning to make the first steps into the gym.
