Instead of randomly inviting people from all over the World of Warcraft community, Blizzard has seen it fit for WoW players to sign up for the beta and then be randomly drawn to participate. So if you want to get in on the Wrath of The Lich King beta goodness get on over to Blizzard's official World of Warcraft site!

In an interview with Blizzard's Executive VP, Rob Pardo, Online Welten got this nice tidbit of news:

"'There is still one unknown project,' Blizzard executive VP Rob Pardo revealed to OnlineWelten during the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational. "We have another development team."

Pardo affirmed that Blizzard's recent job listings for an unannounced next-gen MMO were not related to Diablo III. The company had previously stated that the project was not a World of Warcraft expansion either."

World Of Warcraft class changes announced at WWI

Blizzard Worldwide Invitational

A few World of Warcraft announcements overshadowed by the Diablo III  hubbub at Blizzard's Worldwide invitational:

  • Fury Warriors will be dual-weilding 2H weapons.

  • Rogues will get a new AoE.

  • Priests will get a new crowd control spell.

  • Shaman totems will now affect an entire raid.

  • Hunters are going to see pets having talent trees of their own. A complete revamp of the pet system.

Hmmm....Fury Warriors....dual-weilding 2 handed weapons? Now if you'll excuse me I must go and resist the temptation of starting up my WoW account again.

To save you lots of time to sift and wade through all the Diablo III information to find the valuable nuggets, we've got a FAQ list for you below.

  • Return to Sanctuary, the same world as the previous 2 games. The game takes place 20 years after Diablo 2.

  • There are 5 character classes in the game. We know two so far: a new Witch Doctor class, and a completely redone Barbarian class. Male and female options for all classes.

  • Havok-powered physics

  • Building on previous random environments, Blizzard promises "a host of new ways to create random scripted events throughout the game."

  • Upgraded Battle.net

  • Deckard Cain returns, but is noted as the "first victim" of the new horrors

  • Plan is to release the game "simultaneously in as many regions as possible, and to localize the game in several languages." The game will ship for Mac and Windows simultaneously.

And on an interesting note, Diablo III doesn't sound like an MMO as teams will still be made through Battle.net.

Blizzard's blue morphological mystery = Diablo III

Diablo 3 Splash

The above title was a sad, sad attempt to be a tongue twister. Now, what should be more interesting is the picture above. If you've visited one of Blizzard's sites lately you have probably been greeted with the image above, or a variation of it, before continuing to their main site. What is interesting about this is that the image, which appeared several days ago, has been evolving or morphing, if you will, every day. The intertubes have been ablaze with theories of what this morphing picture might lead to. Some say it might be an announcement for a Wrath of The Lich King beta or a Doom 3 announcement. At the rate the picture has been changing it looks like we won't have to wait until E3 for a big announcement from Blizzard, or should I say Actiblizz, or Blizzavision.

You can see the first forms of the picture to it's current state after the jump. And don't forget more speculation!
