To say that Mirror’s Edge fans have been waiting patiently for another game in the series is an understatement. Since the game’s initial release in 2008, fans have long wondered whether EA DICE would ever release details for developing another title. Their wishes were finally answered during E3 2013 with the announcement of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. Fans moved one step closer toward experiencing the new title today, with the announcement of a closed beta starting on April 22nd.

Per the official Mirror’s Edge website, EA said that the closed beta recipients would be receiving their codes in two waves. Users who were selected for the closed beta and are a Frontrunner (essentially an ‘early-access’ program to all things related to Mirror’s Edge, like in-game rewards, etc.) will receive their invite on April 22nd. Users who got accepted into the closed beta through other means will receive their code on April 23rd.

Gamers who missed their chance to get involved with the closed beta will get the opportunity to see updated gameplay trailers once it starts on April 22nd, via the Mirror’s Edge beta page.
