In order to win the heart of the woman he loves, a young gamer guy from Canada, who also plays in a terrible band, must defeat the apple of his eye’s seven evil exes. Essentially, this is core story of the Scott Pilgrim series of graphic novels by Bryan Lee O’Malley and the since the books’ debuts gamers, musicians, and manga cows alike have flooded to their local bookstores to snatch up the latest volume of the books. Naturally though, the success of the book series caught Hollywood’s attention so Edgar Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, decided to turn the books into a film which hits theaters this Friday: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. But, like every Hollywood movie, the game industry took it upon themselves to adapt the story into a video game.

Thankfully, unlike most movie-to-game adaptations, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game is a fun downloadable title that utilizes the source material to its best ability and, most importantly, knows its audience.

The Carmine family carries a truly woeful burden. Whenever the helmet comes into sight and the words, “My name is Carmine,” come from his lips, the only reaction is to look him in the eye, let a single tear escape, and then start laughing a little bit. We know he won’t last more than an hour or two.

Which side are you on?

But not this time! Epic Games and Microsoft are giving you the opportunity to allow the newest brother, Clayton, to survive a little longer! Starting July 29th, the Avatar Marketplace on Xbox Live will be selling t-shirts imprinted with either, “Save Carmine” or “Carmine Must Die.” Fans attending Comic-Con International in San Diego this week will also be able to cast their votes early by purchasing real life limited edition “Save Carmine” or “Carmine Must Die” t-shirts at the NECA booth for $20.00. Cheery stuff, no?

All proceeds go to Child’s Play Charity, a community-based charity founded by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik of Penny Arcade. Child’s Play has raised millions of dollars to support sending toys, games, and consoles to more than 60 hospitals around the world.

To cast your vote, donate to charity, or learn more about Carmine’s fate, head to http://gearsofwar.xbox.com/carmine.htm

While I’m not a fan of buying avatar accessories, I have to support this. Child’s Play is great and I highly recommend voting if you like helping people or are passionate about Carmine’s life.

According to Gametrailers.com the upcoming game in the Fable franchise, Fable III, will also be distributed episodically through downloadable chapters. This is going to be done as a strategy to generate support for the game. Since the Fable 2 episodic plan managed to garner an extra $15 million in revenue for Fable II.

Just like the Fable 2 plan the first episode of Fable III will be  completely free, with the option to pay for the following chapter or the entire package. Molyneux is a big supporter of offering a free chapter over a simple demo as Molyneux was quoted below.

“It supports this freemium idea,” he said. “It gets around this horrible concept of demos. Anyone out there who thinks a demo is a good idea is crazy. It’s never a good idea, because demos are usually done at the end of a game and they require an enormous amount of design talent to make a demo. The other thing is you’re more likely to satisfying the curiosity of a user rather than entice them to play more.”

So Fable III will be distributed online, does that mean that a disc version will no longer be available? How do you feel about this episodic download ploy that game companies have been trying out?

Yep, you heard me right. Vacuums equipped with sawblades are the number one invention come September 28, 2010. Also, that’s the release date of Dead Rising 2, are you excited? I know I am.

It appears that Sonic 4 Episode 1 has already been leaked and is up on torrent sites for the XBLA version of the game. What is it with Sega and leaks as of late? We’ve all basically seen the entire game leaked in video by now and now we actually get the game. At least we’ll know if its worth buying before the reviews.

The game totals the small size of 169MB. Now hopefully Sega will release the game early instead of making us legit Xbox 360 owners wait another two months.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops has been confirmed as the next title in the highly popular and profitable FPS series.  The game is expected to ship on November 9th, 2010.  The game is also said to change the play style for a more covert approach with the situation set in the world of black ops; this will see you play and shoot behind enemy lines as well as trying to retrieve important intel.  There is no word on what the multiplayer will feature nor what the price will be, but the pricing will probably be similar to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Seems like iTz Lupo isn’t so innocent after all, with his numerous hacking videos on YouTube now watch the unedited footage from his encounter with The Pro (Who personally we think is brilliant for clearing up Xbox Live of these idiots). Video after the break contains foul language and is definitely NSFW.
