If you’ve been visiting VGTribune for a while now, the podcast and other posts have made it clear that I’m not a fan of turn-based games. Not in the slightest.

But when Akyss Games’ latest trailer for Mimana Iyar Chronicle showed up in our inbox, I became pleasantly surprised. It combines all the things you know and love about RPGs with the fast paced, real-time fighting I love. For those of you looking for a fresh take on an RPG, like me, let us know what you think about Mimana Iyar Chronicle in the comments!

Good news for all today as Sony have announced that ModNation is going Portable!

Yes indeed that’s right PSP owners. You will be able to play the PSP version of the game which actually gives you e same creative tools to make your kart or tracks even while you are on the bus, down town or just at your grandparents house. You will be able to upload, download, remix and race creations by the PSP ModNation community which means that, like its PS3 counterpart, content will never get old.

I’m really excited about ModNation on the PSP, just like on the console, because it’s looking like it’s going to be pretty fun and have plenty of replayability. The game will be aunching alongside the PS3 version of the game later this year.

See the trailer and some pictures after the jump!

Story ( 2/10 ) :

I’m one of those gamers who likes to have an intricate story planned out when I play a game. From the loading screen I assumed that this would be some type of sci-fi mech shooter, but I was soon introduced to the error of my assumption. The game has no visible story line when you play, but from what I’ve gathered your a mech named Thexder and you’re sole mission is to get to the core of this space base to destroy to find out and destroy whatever is messing with it.

Multi-player( 2/10 ) :

As far as the multi-player component is concerned, there weren’t many people online to play with. You pretty much get to go through a level together and beat it. Although this can be fun, it would have been nice to see some more modes, like dog fights between two Thexders (If that’s the right way to say it, haha) or things of that nature. If you’re really into this game and like playing on the harder difficulty you’ll appreciate this. Well, that is if you can find someone online to play with. Read the rest of this entry »

PSP Go to see a relaunch?

Published by Alexis Santos in Sony PSP. 0 Comments

If every rose has a thorn, then the PSP Go’s thorn is definitely its price. While it has 8 gigabytes of internal memory encased in a slick case that opens like one of those sliding phones that entertain us for hours upon end, its $249.99 price tag has stopped people from purchasing it.

According to an unnamed source from Gamervision, Sony will be relaunching the PSPGo in order to boost the handheld’s sales. While it’s unclear if this means a price drop, different colors or new features on a new model of the Go, it’s clear that it’s in need of some sales CPR.

What can Sony change about the PSP that will get you to pick one up, dear readers? Let us know in the comments!

Valkyria Chronicles 2

Valkyria Chronicles 2 came out in Japan this week and one of the more noticeable things on board in the game’s option is data install for both the UMD and the PSN version. Is this a trend of the psp also getting you to install games like the Ps3? Lets hope not.

The North American version of the game  will be given the same optimization when it launches later this year.
