UPDATE: This has since been proven false thanks to the good men over at Pokejungle. Shame too, because Smugleaf’s final evolution looked great.

The day that all you Pokefans have been waiting for is finally here. Thanks to a leak via Japanese website 2ch, it seems as though the evolutions for the starter Pokemon in Black and White (lovingly nicknamed Smugleaf, Pignition and Wotter) have finally been revealed. Initially, I was hesitant to post the news when I saw it last night but, since then, Serebii Joe of Serebii.net has deemed it plausible enough to warrant a posting on his website and that is usually a good sign.

Read what Joe had to say about the situation and see what the starter evolutions look like after the jump.

Harmonix and MTV Games have today released the full setlist for the upcoming Rock Band 3 due for release in October, looking at the list this is definitely a game you don’t want to miss with tracks from artist’s such as Them Crooked Vultures and Queens of the Stone Age.

“The Rock Band 3 soundtrack represents the strongest, most diverse collection of music ever assembled for a video game,” said Paul DeGooyer, senior vice president of electronic games, music and programming for MTV Games. “The addition of keyboards and vocal harmonies to the Rock Band platform massively broadens the music selection available to our players. You haven’t sung Queen’s epic “Bohemian Rhapsody” unless you’ve sung the harmony parts – and you can’t do that unless you have Rock Band 3.”

Without further ado, here is the entire, jaw-dropping Rock Band 3 setlist:
(* Denotes the track is on the DS version of the game)

Yes, you read that headline correctly: Nintendo announced that the DSi and DSi XL will be getting a price drop on September 12th!

Here’s the official press release, straight out of my inbox, detailing the news:

REDMOND, Wash., Aug. 30, 2010 – Nintendo is dropping the suggested retail price of its Nintendo DSi™ and Nintendo DSi XL™ video game systems. Effective Sept. 12, the new suggested retail price of the Nintendo DSi system will be $149.99, while the new suggested retail price for the Nintendo DSi XL system will be $169.99. The Nintendo DS™ Lite model will remain at a suggested retail price of $129.99. The Nintendo DS family of video game systems is the best-selling in the history of the U.S. and worldwide. The new prices offer consumers tremendous value for their money while providing access to the best portable video game experiences possible.

“We know shoppers want to get the maximum value out of every dollar they spend,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Our new Nintendo DSi prices make it easier than ever for consumers to access the tremendous variety of games, applications and social tools on the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL systems.”

The Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL systems offer consumers access to more than 1,300 packaged games and more than 200 downloadable games. Both systems feature two built-in cameras and photo- and sound-manipulation software that provide for a more social experience. Users can wirelessly upload photos to Facebook with the touch of a button (wireless broadband Internet access required). The Nintendo DSi XL system, which features a screen that is 93 percent larger than that of the Nintendo DS Lite, comes pre-loaded with software like Brain Age™ Express: Math, Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, Flipnote Studio™, Photo Clock and the Nintendo DSi Browser.

Speculation is running rampant this morning that the news of the DS line price drops is early indication that the Nintendo 3DS will be landing this year at a price of $199.99. Either way, Nintendo will be holding a special press conference later this month that will put the speculation to rest.

Through rain, sleet, snow…and fire…

Tetsuya Nomura seems to be taking a hint from my nightly rooftop demands for a sequel to his 2008 DS game, The World Ends With You. In an interview with Nintendo Power, Nomura expressed quite a bit of interest in working on the project.

“I’m really happy that the game was so well received in North America,” said Nomura. “I definitely want to make a sequel. I’m very busy working on other titles right now, but when the time is right, I would love to make another installment of The World Ends with You.”

I guess that the world actually ends with Nomura’s project list. The World Ends With You was 2008′s best game in my opinion and I insist that you go out and buy it immediately.

With Pokemon Black and White only a month away from Japanese release, now is probably the best time for us to refresh your memory on anything and everything that we know about the upcoming games. We here at VGTribune have gathered every little detail of information that we have on the titles and, better yet, we’ll be updating this story with more information as it floods in within the coming weeks.

Grab a cup of Joe (or, if you prefer, tea), sit in your most relaxing chair and get your reading glasses out because this is going to be a LOT of information to take in.

A game that defies genre. Would you consider that to be a compliment? In many cases, I would. Not  being able to define a game means that it successfully combined the best traits of several genres and avoided the pitfalls in each of them. However, it’s not too often we see anything other than the usual combinations, such as action-RPG, stealth-action, or even the occasional platform-RPG. Henry Hatsworth is definitely one of those games that combines genre… but it does it defy those genres? Read more after the jump! Read the rest of this entry »

So you thought it was just going to end with the announcement of two upcoming Professor Layton games at E3? Right? Well, isn’t that cute… but’s it’s wrong!!

It seems that Manga Entertainment is releasing Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva on DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK on October 4th. The film will be released in a few ways. A disc-only DVD, and a disc only Blu-Ray editions. There will also be a phantasmagorical collector’s edition which comes in both a DVD, and Blu-Ray formats, and features gorgeous packaging and even includes an art book full of storyboards.

If you’re in the US, it’s easy to order from Amazon UK. I’m pretty sure region free DVD players exist as well for cheap.
