Well in case you missed the announcement yesterday at GDC, Sony’s Motion Control technology will be called ‘Playstation Move’.

The whole package will launch for the holidays and will be available for under a $100 and will contain a game, the move wand and a PS Eye camera.

What’s more interesting is the ‘nunchuck’ like add-on Sony also showed us, yes folks it’s a nunchuck. Sony is looking to take on the Wii’s heavy market share in Motion Control and they think they can do it. And do it well.

“Nothing has ever been this precise, this responsive,” said Shuhei Yoshida, head of Sony Worldwide Studios.

He said that the device was “more precise, immersive and responsive” than rival controllers, and that it “breathes new life into new game genres”.

Sony’s Peter Dille, head of hardware marketing at SCEA, added that there was “not a high level of precision” in the Wii which gives PS3 Move the advantage as precision “drives the core gamer”.

Sony is already marketing Move aggressively with impressive on stage demo’s at places like GDC they are really trying to push it out the door and into Nintendo’s face.

A clear fan of the Halo franchise has decided to rip the recent multi-player trailer of Halo Reach to shreds and examine every possibly detail shown. The information contained is of course part speculative and part fact but this makes an interesting listen to anyway. I myself cant wait for the reach beta after this. What did you think of the trailer? Tell me in the comments.

Activision have made a worrying prediction about there prize pig World of Warcraft, according to a risk assessment the MMO giant could be toppled by the social gaming scene.

Speaking in its 10k annual report Activision said  ”We also compete with other forms of interactive entertainment, Such as casual games like iPhone applications and other mobile phone games, and games developed for use by consumers on social networking sites.”

“Future increased consumer acceptance and increases in the availability of such games or other online games, or technological advances in online game software or the Internet, could result in a decline in platform-based software and negatively impact sales of our console and hand-held products.

“Newer technological advances in online game software may also render products such as World of Warcraft obsolete.”

In 2009 Call of Duty, Guitar Hero and World of Warcraft made up 68 per cent of Activision’s net revenues this makes worrying reading for Activision as losing one of these could seriously effect them.

“A substantial portion of our revenue and profitability will depend on the subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game category. If we do not maintain our leadership position in this category, our financial results could suffer,” Activision added.

Worrying times at Activision.
