The Sacrifice is a piece of recently announced DLC for the Left 4 Dead series. It involves a similar story and setting as the previous DLC “The Passing” but The Sacrifice has you going though that campaign from the point of the original survivors (Bill, Zoey, Francis and Louis). The main thing about this DLC is at the end of the campaign the player(s) choose who will die (it is not known at this present time if the decision that is made will affect the passing campaign, where the left 4 dead 2 survivors meet with  the remaining left 4 dead survivors on the bridge during the passing).

Compatibly for the sacrifice will be compatible with both left for dead 1 & 2 (it does not really mean which version of the game you own you will still be able to play The Sacrifice, this does mean that the original survivors of left 4 dead 1 will be playable in left 4 dead 2 for the first time)

Pricing for the DLC will be similar to “The Passing” which means free for pc/mac and around 560 – 800 MSP for Xbox 360

This DLC was slated to be released 1 month after “The Passing” but due to “Valve Time” it has been pushed back. I think that due to info being released that “the Sacrifice” will see release within a 2 month window.

What to Expect: The Story

The DLC is set in the entirely new and unexplored Rapture Central Computing District of Rapture, you will take the role of a new Alpha series big daddy “Sigma”(playing as a  new big daddy suggests this is set ether before or after the main story but it is not known how the story of the DLC fit in with the main story yet), your job is to find “The Thinker” (a supercomputer that controls the district) with the help of Dr. Tenenbaum in-order to take down the dictatorship of Reed Wahl who controls the Rapture Central Computing District.

What to Expect: The New Toys/Weapons

The new DLC will include some new types of Guns and plasmids as well as the Master Protector Tonic (only Available to those who own the previous DLC The Protector Trials).

In order to win the heart of the woman he loves, a young gamer guy from Canada, who also plays in a terrible band, must defeat the apple of his eye’s seven evil exes. Essentially, this is core story of the Scott Pilgrim series of graphic novels by Bryan Lee O’Malley and the since the books’ debuts gamers, musicians, and manga cows alike have flooded to their local bookstores to snatch up the latest volume of the books. Naturally though, the success of the book series caught Hollywood’s attention so Edgar Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, decided to turn the books into a film which hits theaters this Friday: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. But, like every Hollywood movie, the game industry took it upon themselves to adapt the story into a video game.

Thankfully, unlike most movie-to-game adaptations, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game is a fun downloadable title that utilizes the source material to its best ability and, most importantly, knows its audience.

This weeks Rock Band DLC features three more tracks from American industrial metal band Ministry.

Founded in 1981 by Al Jourgensen, it took several band member changes and a total sound overhaul before Ministry finally broke into the mainstream with their 1991 hit “Jesus Built My Hotrod,” which will be coming to Rock Band next week, and the ensuing LP Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs. Ministry disbanded in 2008, but over the course of the band’s 27 years of performing, they paved the way for American industrial metal. Their songs have been featured in movies such as The Matrix, for which they received a GrammyAward nomination, and the 2009 Academy Award-winning film The Hurt Locker.

Activision today have revealed that  life-to-date sales of Call of Duty Map Packs (DLC) have passed the 20 million units sold mark.

These numbers take into account all DLC released for the whole franchise on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. They also included the two Modern Warfare 2 Map Packs from this year (2010).

“The Call of Duty franchise is unique in the world of entertainment and delivers one of the best multiplayer experiences ever,” said Activision Blizzard CEO Robert Kotick.

“We are thrilled to deliver to fans exciting and engaging content that has the intensity they have come to expect from the franchise.”

It’s worth noting however for those of you that didn’t catch Activision’s E3 announcement, that all DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released first exclusively on Xbox 360 in a deal that runs until 2012.

At this point VGTribune doesn’t have the ‘Per Platform’ sales data but we will be sure to bring it to you when we do, along with some more bad Idiom’s.

The Carmine family carries a truly woeful burden. Whenever the helmet comes into sight and the words, “My name is Carmine,” come from his lips, the only reaction is to look him in the eye, let a single tear escape, and then start laughing a little bit. We know he won’t last more than an hour or two.

Which side are you on?

But not this time! Epic Games and Microsoft are giving you the opportunity to allow the newest brother, Clayton, to survive a little longer! Starting July 29th, the Avatar Marketplace on Xbox Live will be selling t-shirts imprinted with either, “Save Carmine” or “Carmine Must Die.” Fans attending Comic-Con International in San Diego this week will also be able to cast their votes early by purchasing real life limited edition “Save Carmine” or “Carmine Must Die” t-shirts at the NECA booth for $20.00. Cheery stuff, no?

All proceeds go to Child’s Play Charity, a community-based charity founded by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik of Penny Arcade. Child’s Play has raised millions of dollars to support sending toys, games, and consoles to more than 60 hospitals around the world.

To cast your vote, donate to charity, or learn more about Carmine’s fate, head to http://gearsofwar.xbox.com/carmine.htm

While I’m not a fan of buying avatar accessories, I have to support this. Child’s Play is great and I highly recommend voting if you like helping people or are passionate about Carmine’s life.
