So you thought it was just going to end with the announcement of two upcoming Professor Layton games at E3? Right? Well, isn’t that cute… but’s it’s wrong!!

It seems that Manga Entertainment is releasing Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva on DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK on October 4th. The film will be released in a few ways. A disc-only DVD, and a disc only Blu-Ray editions. There will also be a phantasmagorical collector’s edition which comes in both a DVD, and Blu-Ray formats, and features gorgeous packaging and even includes an art book full of storyboards.

If you’re in the US, it’s easy to order from Amazon UK. I’m pretty sure region free DVD players exist as well for cheap.

After years of asking for a proper discussion board to express their Poképinions, posters on the popular anonymous image board 4chan finally saw their wishes granted today.

At approximately 12:37 this morning, 4chan founder Christopher “moot” Poole posted a welcome message on the new discussion board, /vp/, alerting posters to the fact that they “GOTTA CATCH ‘EM ALL” followed by the green text response “POKÉMON”. Naturally, the response to the post was immediate and from there, the discussion board has already grown to become one of the most popular sections of the website. The creation of a Pokémon exclusive board however, should not have come as much of a surprise. Earlier in the year, “moot” created a topic on the video game section of the website, /v/, in which he asked if there was really a desire for one and fans of both the games and the website have been asking for a Pokéboard since 4chan’s inception.

For the last two years a group of guys have been streaming all the Mario games and suffering on some of the more fiendish levels for our amusement all for donations to childs play. We’re not sure if this is a clip form the Hollywood Mortal Kombat movie that semes to have hit a roadblock or an awesomely produced fan-made short, but either way it’s looking great. What say you, Mortal Kombat fans?

As is customary with EA Sports when major sporting competitions come around, they whip our their [Insert Sport Here] title and predict a winner for the event. This time their simulation of the 2010 FIFA World Cup match between Spain and Brazil had Spain coming out on top with a score of 3 to 1.

Where were you on this day 30 years ago? If you were in Japan, you could have been playing some of the very first Pac-Man machines.  Tomorrow, which is already today in the land of the rising sun, marks the 30th anniversary of the arcade classic – Pac man – unleashed on Japanese arcades on May 22nd, 1980.

Google celebrated by creating a custom front-page logo that resembled the classic arcade game – but one who waits might notice that the logo animates. Play around with your keyboard keys, and you’ll find that it’s actually playable. If you’re particularly curious, you may even discover that this version of Pac-Man is slightly revolutionary – press the “insert coin” button below the search bar, and Ms. Pac-Man will join the fray – for a rare game of co-op Pac-Man.

There are more easter eggs and references to the original – the cut-scenes are still there, and Techland.com reports that expert players who reach the 256th level will see the classic “Kill Screen.”

For retro gamers, it’s a surprising, and delighting tribute to the age-old franchise, and a reminder of how much gaming has changed in 30 years.  Bravo Google, a subtle, effective tribute, done extremely well.

Kicking off the 18-city tour later this May at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, MGC is your chance to show your skills at four different games for fabulous cash and prizes.  The games span the gaming gamut, including Guitar Hero 5, Madden NFL 10, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and even a mobile game in Need For Speed: Shift – there truly is something for every type of gamer who wants to participate.

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men was a pretty polarizing game; either you didn’t like it, or you had played it in co-op and really saw the series’ true potential.  Whether you liked it or not, the sequel (Kane & Lynch: Dog Days) is on the way, and with it comes a new comic book from IO Interactive and DC Comics!

The story pieces together parts of the duo’s grimy past, and will be released under DC’s “Wildstorm” imprint.  The first issue should see stores this August.

The series will be written by comic book veteran Ian Edginton.  Ian’s past work includes Planet of the Apes, Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who and Torchwood.  Over the years he’s worked with Marvel, DC, Top Cow, Dark Horse and Top Cow, among others.  Illustrating the intense story will be Chris Mitten (current artist for WASTELAND) with Ben Templesmith working the cover art.
