While we always talk about gaming news and what we’ve been playing, we’ve never discussed what our gaming setups look like. The posters over at the NeoGaf Forums have started up their yearly “Show us your gaming setups” thread so gamers can show off their setups. We did some quick digging around and the one above was our favorite. It may not be the most sleek or stylish, but we get a command center/gaming-technology cave vibe from it. We imagine that whoever uses it is either the greatest multitasker and amazing at getting things done or he’s the most distracted and least productive person on the Earth.

You can find the rest of NeoGaf’s gaming rigs here. Want to show us your gaming rigs? Feel free to email them to us at tips @ vgrtibune .com!

You can find a picture of my college dorm room gaming rig (and the second half of the one featured above) after the jump!

Despite Nintendo breaking records here, there and everywhere and committing absolute annihilation on any competitor in sight the industry has never really took a shine to the Wii. Comments from the likes of Sega and Capcom have done even more to not help matters. There comments are apparently echoed throughout the industry even though some Dev’s dare not admit it.

In a recent interview over at Gaming Union former DICE CEO and Co-Founder Fredrik Lillegrin had a few things to say about the Wii:

Gaming Union: Are you surprised with the negativity surrounding the Wii from various groups, even after all this time and its success? Would you develop a Wii game if you were a traditional developer?

Fredrik Liliegrin: If I got paid to develop a Wii game I would do it. I would not put an original IP on the Wii today unless I thought I had an absolute home run.

Gaming Union: Why not?

Fredrik Liliegrin: Because the Wii, to me, I would describe it as a Virus, that doesn’t stick. Everyone comes home, it’s a toy, people have got to realize the Wii is a toy, not an entertainment focused product. People come home, someone, they play Wii for a bit, feel it’s really cool, blah blah blah, they go out and buy one. Ask people how often they play the Wii, that are not the core game consumer that buys one because they have an Xbox 360 and a Wii or a PlayStation 3 and a Wii. The people that only own the Wii, ask that consumer how often they use their machine. They just don’t use it, it was cool, but they’re not gamers, so they put it away. Other than the Wii Fit phenomenon that helped a lot of people get a nice cutie voice telling that they’re fat and need to go work out, they need to find other alternatives. Nintendo is smart in that way in that they realize this is not a video game machine, this is not a games game machine.

The ever great country that the UK is have now decided to up the gaming stakes when it comes to naming things. A major ring road in Derby, Derbyshire, England has been officially renamed to Lara Croft Way after a overwhleming 89% of votes said that it was a good idea. The reason for this choice was mainly because the game series was developed near the ring road at Derby.

If that doesnt prove that the UK loves gaming then nothing will.

Further to what we already know about the situation, i.e the fact Lupo wasn’t all that innocent in getting himself suspended. Lupo has now released a new video in which he states that he has purchased a new Xbox console.

It was only December when the British Government announced to the anger of many it would not be introducing a Tax Break for UK games developers, however today Prime Minister Gordon Brown has said he thinks the UK’s games industry is the most important in Europe.

Speaking on a podcast for the Global Investment Conference (GIC) which takes place in London this week he said, that UK developers are “by far the biggest producer of computer games in Europe” – and promised that the GIC would lead to “new commitments of investment”.

“We’re leading the way in creative industries: by far the biggest producer of computer games in Europe,” said Brown.

“And we’re leading the way in digital communications: In a country with only one per cent of the world’s population, more than a third of all internet traffic is routed through UK servers.

“This coming week is another chance to showcase the UK. This is not just a talking shop though. There will be new commitments of investment off the back of this conference.”

Major UK developers include Rebellion (AVP), Lionhead (Fable), Codemasters (DIRT), Rocksteady (Arkham Asylum), Rockstar (GTA) and many more.

Seems like iTz Lupo isn’t so innocent after all, with his numerous hacking videos on YouTube now watch the unedited footage from his encounter with The Pro (Who personally we think is brilliant for clearing up Xbox Live of these idiots). Video after the break contains foul language and is definitely NSFW.

Today Sonic fans were given what they had been waiting for since 1994; A return to the classic 2D style that they fell in love with. We know most Sonic fans are ecstatic as a result of the announcement of Sonic the Hedgehog 4, as are we. Yet, some fanboys still refuse to accept what they’ve been given. Do they reject what they see from sheer shock? Have they become so accustomed to being disappointed with every Sonic title after Sonic 3 that they automatically find things they hate about new games?

Join us as we continue our case study of Sonic fanboys.

While I was at the Ohio anime convention aptly named “Ohayocon” this weekend, Jonathan Coulton, the man behind songs such as Still Alive (Portal) and Re: Your Brains (Featured in Left 4 Dead 2 Jukebox) happened to be playing. At the second of his two performances he played his songs for about 2 hours. Overall, Coulton is an awesome performer.

He has nice interludes between his pieces in which he does a bit of comedy and talks to the audience in addition to his great setlist. During the concert I thought it would be cool if I recorded two songs Still Alive and Re: Your Brains . . . so I did, as you can tell by the links.  It was recorded using my phone so sorry for the poor quality and quiet audio.  You will probably need to turn the Youtube volume all the way up.  Anyway, it was awesome seeing him and anyone who gets the chance should.

A Pokemon enthusiast took it upon himself to redesign all the Pokemon as traditional Japanese art.  And so far it looks really cool.  He is currently done with the first 251 Pokemon and we think he’s planning to recreate them all.  You can find all of his work by clicking here. We’ll update more when he has created more Pokemon pieces.

Might we recommend taking a look at the Jigglypuff family? They all look . . . evil.
