Infinity Ward has finally released a patch for those ever-so-pesky glitches that plague Modern Warfare 2′s online multi-player. As of yesterday the patch has been released for both the U.S. and European versions of the PS3 copies of the game. However, Infinity Ward states that the Xbox360 version of the patch will have to wait awhile as the patch has to first go through Microsoft’s review board. Most upsetting to me is the fact that the patch eliminates the ability to do the elevator glitch picture above. Below is a list of all issues, as of now, that the patch will fix:

  • The Model 1887 using Bling with the Akimbo and FMJ perks now have normalized damage and range. This means that the Model 1887 using that setup will now have the same ability as the Model 1887 without that setup, disregarding the use of two of them and the increased damage when shooting through walls.
  • The “infinite care package” glitch will be patched.
  • Sentry Guns will have improved placement detection. This means you can’t place a sentry gun within the geometry of a level, making it invincible.
  • XP hack glitches will be patched.
  • Running speeds will be normalized when throwing sentry gun, care package, and emergency air drop markers.
  • Player collision will be fixed with the geometry of a level. Simply put, this will eliminate the ability for players to use the once faulty collision detection to float above the level.
